Tennis Anyone?

Tennis is a sport for everyone, young or old, big or small.  I started playing when I was twelve and I haven't put down a racquet since.

Joe Goldthreate:  Is that a pancake?  You're gonna have tennis elbow in the morning.

At the Hadley Park Tennis Club in Nashville, TN,   You can see such local legends Curtis Holland and Joe Goldthreate.  Ahhh, I can hear Joe now, "Mary, what do you call that?  Do you understand what I'm telling you?"  I'm sure I was his best student ever.  Good times!

The day is mine, Trebek!

I had the pleasure of teaching at the Hadley Park Junior Development Camp in the summer of 1999.  I loved teaching the kids how to hit different strokes and then really seeing them follow through and learn the stroke.  However, nothing could beat turning over the ball cart when the students did not have all the balls picked up.  I played varsity tennis for Springfield High School.  I won the district singles division my senior year.

Eat your heart out Venus Williams.

In Nashville, I played for the Hadley Park Women's tennis team in the Nashville Team Tennis League.  My latest tournament was the Highsmith Memorial Tournament where I placed second in the Women's Open Singles division.

I am a card-carrying member of the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and I have plans of earning my USTA Instructor Certification.  In Arizona, Jon and I are both getting involved in the local tennis circuit. We currently play at Randolph Tennis Center.

Game over, man.
